Ron Jensen, beloved husband and cherished father, bravely choose to leave this world for the next on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Despite suffering many years with a debilitating illness, Ron remained a steady presence in his family home, up to the end showing the love and generosity that characterized his life. Ron was born on Nov. 6, 1943, to the proud parents Lois and Lee Jensen, of Price. He lived his entire life in Utah. First, spending his childhood in Hiawatha, then many years in Price then off to Salt Lake City and finally settling for the warmth and scenery of St. George. Ron met his bride-to-be Lynn Atwood while they both attended Carbon High School. They were married in Pocatello, Idaho on March 23, 1965 and later moved back to Price to raise their family. Ron, in the beginning, worked for his father's company, Harman and Jensen. Eventually, Ron took over the daily operations of H&J and with his father (Lee Jensen) by his side the two made their company so successful that by the age of 40 Ron was able to retire. This early retirement allowed him to concentrate on the things he loved most and that was being "a winner". He loved to play the slots, card games and betting Monday night football with his daughter. Now if he won, the world was a happy place and all was well. If he lost you found someplace else to be. Ron, also loved to play jokes on other family members and once he played one on you, you were expected to play one right back on him. This back and forth could go on for weeks. Ron is survived by his wife, Lynn; his three children, Jill Edwards, Joe Jensen, Jacklyn Brock; his mother, Lois Jensen; and his two cats, Tut and Frankie. Despite him living a full and rich 69 years, they wish he could live forever. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Lee Jensen; sister, Joni Jensen; and his cat, Honey. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Noon at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S. Dixie Dr., St. George, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, (435) 673-2454. Friends and family are invited to sign Ron's guestbook at www.spilsburymortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1930 S. 1100 E., SLC, UT 84006.
