Clyde R. Reaveley Clyde R. Reaveley passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 6, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Clyde was born January 2, 1933 in Consumers, Utah to Belle Gentry and George Douglas Reaveley. His family moved to Hiawatha, Utah in 1937. He attended the Hiawatha school, Price Jr. High and Carbon High.
Clyde joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War.
He married Betty LeFlore in March 1951. They moved to Layton where he worked at Hill AFB.
Clyde was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions including Scout leader, Temple Ordinance Worker and member of the bishopric. In addition to his church service he enjoyed many hobbies including fly fishing and radio-controlled airplanes.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife Betty and three sons; Gary, Rod (Diane), Jimmy (Roslynn), six grandchildren; Shawn, Brooke, Brad, Benjamin, Isaac, Caleb, five great-grandchildren; Mayah, Ashton, Garrett, Kyra, Zack, two sisters; Laretta (David) Larsen, Virginia Jordan and one brother; Don (Jean).
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. |
