Pete George Petrulakis passed away on April 28, 2013. Pete was born in the coal mining town of Hiawatha, Utah, January 3rd 1934. He grew up in Hiawatha with all his friends with whom he had breakfast twice a month until he moved to St. George. He played football for Carbon High and they took the Championship in 1951. The Families moved to Salt Lake City in 1950, when he began his studies at the University of Utah for 4 years. He served in the Army in 1955 in France. Pete worked for 35 years for the Utah Department of Transportation. He retired in May 1994 as the Administrative Manager of Project Development.
He married Ursula Doebbeling Hill on February 14, 1970. They lived in Sandy for 31 years, moved to St. George in 2003. He is survived by his wife Ursula of 43 years, 2 daughters, Leslie and Tia. Granddaughters; Ashley (Jake), Stephanie (Chad), Grandson; Andrew; six Great-grandchildren; Brother, Dean (Judy); Sister-in-law, Anna; 3 Nephews, George (Karna), Nick (Karen), Dean (Laura); 1 Great nephew, 4 Great nieces; Cousins in the USA and Greece, and our long time friend Bonnie D'Grazio.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Elizabeth Petrulakis, his brother Anthony George Petrulakis, his sister Sylvia Petrulakis, brother-in-laws, Dieter Doebbeling (Germany) and Rolf Doebbeling, and mother-in-law, Elfriede Doebbeling.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Creek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trisagio service at 7:00 p.m. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
