Shoro Budo, son of Toraichi Budo and Torachiyo Araii, passed away surrounded by his family on August 2, 2016. He was born September 3, 1928 in Mohrland, Utah. He was raised in Hiawatha, Utah. Started school at Carbon College in Price Utah where he later met his wife Lois Christianson whom he was married to for 61 years.. Shoro served his country during World War II as a member of the occupying forces in Japan and later was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington during the Korean War. Following his military service he attended Utah State University, where he played football and earned a BS in geology. Some years later, with a wife and 3 kids, went back to school and earned his Master’s degree specializing in Hydrogeology from the University of Arizona. His work as a hydrogeologist took him to different parts of the world including Kabul, Afghanistan and Cochabamba, Bolivia. This love of travel and exploring different cultures has been passed on to his children. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in various capacities. He worked with the youth and the Boy Scout program, served as a temple worker and had the wonderful opportunity to serve three missions with his wife in Okayama, Japan and the Deseret Ranch near Orlando, Florida. Shoro enjoyed all types of sports and he as an avid runner. He completed 13 marathons and one of his most memorable experiences was participating in the Boston Marathon at the age of 61. Shoro will be dearly missed by friends and family. He is survived by his wife Lois and children Jan, Chris and Tami Budo. A graveside service will be held in his honor in Spanish Fork Utah on Saturday August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am
